Twin River Commons, which opened July 2012, includes 371 beds of premium student apartments located within the primary business district of the City of Binghamton, adjacent to Binghamton University’s Downtown Center and about 3 miles from the main BU campus in Vestal. TRC is privately developed and owned by NDG Student Living™; this property is designed to fulfill our community's need to draw more students into downtown, support the University’s nearby investment in the City, and revitalize a blighted, environmentally distressed, and archeologically sensitive site.
TRC was constructed by our construction affiliate, Northeast United and was completed four weeks ahead of schedule. TRC includes spacious floor plans in a variety of styles, including studios and 1, 2 ,3 and 4 bedroom apartments. The units are fully furnished and provide all residents with private bedrooms, individual bathrooms, designer kitchens, full-size washer/dryers, individually controlled heat and air conditioning, cable and internet service, and many premium finishes.
TRC is planned as a student-only live/learn community that supports residents’ personal, social and academic needs and includes many amenities, such as a multi-media lounge, café, computer commons with free printing, study lounges, exercise facility, game room, gated/secure access, and a private courtyard. In addition, as an urban-based project, TRC allows residents walking access to the City’s social, business and cultural opportunities, as well as the nearby Riverwalk pedestrian/bike trail and several riverfront parks.
